Sharon Bugg

Managing Director | CPA

Sharon is an experienced and dedicated leader with a passion to inspire and motivate others to strive for excellence, with a focus on delivering first class engineering design outcomes to clients.

With a positive mindset, Sharon aspires to empower all staff to view each challenge as an opportunity to apply engineering expertise to deliver innovative solutions for every project.

Sharon is a highly effective leader and skilled communicator which supports the development of a strong and collaborative team culture with a shared vision.

Working within the construction industry for over 20 years has provided Sharon with an astute understanding of the complexities of the industry.

Sharon’s extensive background in accountancy, finance, human resources and management makes her well equipped to nurture the financial and strategic growth of the business, whilst ensuring compliance and sustainability.

Sharon's leadership and expertise provide a valuable contribution to the team, while her financial acumen and strategic vision provide the ability to drive the success and growth of the business.

 

Shane Cooke



Operations & Quality Manager

Shane joined the team in 2015 and enjoys his role as an engineer because of his work on a vast range of projects and industries with different clients.  He enjoys finding solutions to problems and watching designs evolve into completed projects. The speed at which technology keeps advancing is something which creates constant opportunities to create improved outcomes for clients which is something he enjoys.  The most enjoyable project he has worked on was the Antarctic Exhibition at the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery in Hobart. 

Shane is the office sports buff and also enjoys camping, bushwalking and fishing in Tasmania’s wild places. He loves spending time with friends and family and can often be found playing practical jokes, or scheming and devising practical jokes!  When he isn’t busy in his outdoor pursuits you’ll find him foraging for local produce as he loves fresh raspberries and Tassie scallops.

 

William Cameron


Principal - Structural, Civil and Hydraulic Engineer

William started at CES in 2016 after graduating from the University of Tasmania with Honours in civil engineering. In his time with us he has worked on many diverse projects, his favourite to date was the CH Smith Redevelopment in Launceston. Will grew up surrounded by the fabrication/construction industry which led to an interest in engineering from a young age. This early interest has meant that today as a project engineer, he is able to overcome project specific challenges and constraints.  

Will loves motorsports and working on cars. When the weather warms up (or Tasmanian summer) he can be found in cricket whites on an oval somewhere in Northern Tasmania. He loves the diversity of the Tasmanian environment and how many different industries and specialisations exist over such a small geographic area.

 

Tim Reynolds



Principal – Building Services and BIM Manager

Tim joined us in 2019 and brings a wealth of experience in electrical and mechanical engineering, and Computer Aided Drafting.  Since that time, Tim has developed a particular interest in Building Information Modelling and in the use of Autodesk Revit.  He is passionate about utilising technology to streamline design & documentation.  Tim is always on the lookout for new challenges and development opportunities.  He loves the practical problem solving and designing solutions that combine precision and creativity to achieve the best outcome for the client.  One of his favourite projects was developing a classroom in a school and collaborating with the school community to create an innovative solution that fosters a great learning environment.  

Tim enjoys time with his family, photography, music, cycling, fencing and being a part of his local Church band.  He is a proud Tasmanian and loves the genuine care for the environment that Tasmanians have.  He enjoys the sense of community in Tasmania and that when he is out riding his bike that people are friendly and smile on the track.

 

Scott Sheriff



Structural Civil and Hydraulic Engineer – Senior Associate

Scott has had a colourful career which started with a civil engineering degree from UTAS- he joined the CES team in 2019 and has had many career highlights. He enjoys the problem solving aspects of engineering to create solutions for clients and communities. 

Scott’s career has taken him all over the world spending 10 years in Europe, Asia, USA and Africa where he spent 4 years in Zimbabwe working on structural engineering projects in universities, schools, shopping centres, road bridges and mining infrastructure.  He has two favourite projects; The Ulverstone basketball stadium where there was a real sense of fulfillment from working alongside the Ulverstone community who were excited about their new cultural asset and what it meant for their town. His second favourite was as a contracts manager for the Philadelphia Eagles gridiron American football stadium, Lincoln Financial Field- it was a huge project which was worth $1.6 billion and employed over 5000 construction personnel- Scott enjoyed being a part of such a big and significant project that positively contributed to the future of Philadelphia. 

Scott regards himself as being fortunate to be born, bred and educated in Tasmania. After his time overseas he returned to Tasmania because he loves the people, weather, scenery and the amazing lifestyle that Tasmania offers.  Two of his favourite activities are snow skiing and travel adventures.

 
 

Alan Coote

Manager Special Projects

Alan’s career in engineering began when a teacher saw his talents in math and science and suggested engineering as a career option.  This guidance saw him study electrical and electronics engineering at the University of Tasmania. Today he is Manager Special Projects of CES. His favourite project was undertaking the CH Smith redevelopment as the client were happy to fund new and innovative technology, and there was something new and challenging around every corner leading to a sustainable end product.  

When time allows Alan enjoys spending time with his family, cooking, bushwalking, gardening, overseas travel and buying fishing equipment. He can also be found in a comfortable chair on his deck at Bruny Island enjoying the sunset. He loves Tasmania’s scenery weather and food and loves returning home after his overseas adventures.

 

James McElwee

Engineering Project Technician

James joined CES in 2017.  His passion for engineering was sparked when learning about complex structures and large scale urban design projects whilst studying Environmental Design (Architecture) at UTAS.   He enjoys the field of engineering and being able to create documentation to communicate the specifications for a structure to be built- bringing real world physically to a design/concept.  His favourite project was the CH Smith development in Launceston.  

James has many interests including playing the bass guitar, collecting coins, amateur radio and tending to his range of animals on his hobby farm. He loves Tasmania because he can live in a rural property and work in the CBD with a relatively short commute. The Tasmanian lifestyle enables him to live close to beaches and lots of places to explore.

 

Con Spiliopoulos

Engineering Project Technician

Con joined CES in 2021.  Con has a talent for engineering and has studied Environmental Design (Architecture) at UTAS.  He has worked in many positions and a variety of industries including mining , naval, specialty research and design. He has worked in the field of engineering for many years and is ready to create documentation to communicate the specifications for a structure to be built and bring your design/concept to life.   

Con has many interests including drawing, metal sculpture, backgammon, gardening and comics.

 

Trevor Leith

Electrical Engineering Technologist

Trevor joined CES in 2020.  Trevor emigrated from South Africa in 2019 with his family. Prior to emigrating, he had his own consulting business.

Trevor studied at Nelson Mandela University, South Africa.

Trevor enjoys exploring his local surroundings, going to the gym or pottering around in the shed. Trevor enjoys tinkering with cars, building electronic projects with Arduino, which involves some coding to make things work & loves Steak and chips, Thai food, and Pizza.

Trevor loves the beautiful scenery and the sense of community that Tasmania offers.

Roy Cheuk

Mechanical Engineer

Roy joined CES in 2021 as a Mechanical Engineer. Holding a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Hon) from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, Roy has been working in the building services industry since his graduation in 2013.

Before joining CES, Roy gained experience in the design and maintenance of HVAC systems in high-rise commercial and residential buildings in Hong Kong. With CES, Roy remains dedicated to providing tailored engineering solutions to clients. His unique combination of design proficiency and maintenance experience ensures that his approach is holistic and considers the long-term functionality and efficiency of HVAC systems.

Outside of work, Roy and his family have embraced the Australian lifestyle since their move in 2019. He takes delight in the diverse choices of fresh produce, explores our breathtaking national parks, and enjoys the simple pleasure of seeing his dog play in Tasmania’s green fields.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Roy maintains a healthy work-life balance. He finds joy in spending quality time with his family. His interests extend to dog walking, movie watching, and the dynamic sport of Muay Thai (Thai boxing).

Ulrike Penu

Engineering Technologist

Ulrike joins our Launceston team as an Engineering Technologist, bringing to our office an added passion for a sustainable approach to our build environment & district knowledge as an aeronautical engineer. Ulrike graduated with honours in Aerospace Engineering from Swansea University, Wales.

As an Engineering Technologist in CES' Launceston office, she collaborates with our engineering teams to bring togethering modelling, drafting and documentation for our diverse range of projects.

Her interest in sustainable building processes, town planning and resource management compliments Ulrike’s problem solving and project work.

Although her engineering knowledge grounds Ulrike's work at CES, it is her keen eye for purposeful and practical solutions that adds a valuable & progressive component to our growing team.

Azhar Razvi

Engineering Technologist

Azhar Razvi joined CES in Oct 2022 as an Engineering Technologist. He completed his formal education in Mechanical Engineering from J.N.T.U University, Hyderabad, India. Since that time Azhar has gained extensive experience in Fire Protection Engineering across the Middle East, including High rise Buildings, Hospital’s, commercial & Industrial projects in UAE, Saudi Arabia & Qatar.

Azhar looks forward to each new project, with the opportunity to improve skills, improve problem solving, and utilize project limitations for the best possible outcome for the client.

Outside of work, Azhar loves to spend time with his family, gardening, playing with the kids, relaxing, watching Cricket, Tennis & sports.

Having moved to Tasmania in 2020 with his wife and kids, Azhar has found Tasmania to be an incredibly attractive state with kind & diverse people, clean atmosphere, calm, and serene surroundings.  They have loved exploring the abundance of local history, the breadth of culture, and beautiful landscape.

Christopher Crack

Senior Electrical Designer

Christopher joined CES in March 2023 as a Senior Electrical Designer.

Christopher looks forward to each new project, with the opportunity to improve skills, improve problem solving, and utilize project limitations for the best possible outcome for the client. He looks forward to working closely with clients and providing exceptional service along with the CES team.

He loves the beautiful scenery and the sense of community that Tasmania offers.

Spiros Mavrangelos

Senior Hydraulic Design Technician

Joining CES in 2024 as a Senior Hydraulic Design Technician, Spiros brings almost three decades of experience in hydraulic building services design engineering and documentation across Australia. His comprehensive knowledge of hydraulic engineering, building technology and industry legislation and regulations makes him a very capable member of the CES team.

In addition to his significant industry experience, Spiros has completed a Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design and a Diploma of Building Surveying, as well as Certificate IV in Plumbing & Services (Hydraulic Services Design) and Certificate IV in Building & Construction.

In his spare time, Spiros enjoys going crabbing off his favourite jetty or taking in breathtaking coastal views over a cup of coffee. Often you can find him and his wife road tripping a local wine route or enjoying the sun at the beach.

His other interests include gardening, walking and travelling.

Arun KC

Engineering Technician

Arun became a member of the CES team in 2024 as an Engineering Technician with a background in civil and hydraulic engineering, following the successful completion of his Diploma of Engineering Technical in 2023.

Bringing a strong work ethic and a passion for civil engineering, Arun enjoys all aspects of engineering and aims to provide valuable contributions to projects.

His dedication to continuous learning and his unwavering focus on innovation has allowed him to make significant contributions to numerous projects within CES. We're excited to see Arun's continued growth and impact within our organization.

Outside of work, Arun loves a sense of adventure, often travelling or completing multiday treks. He is also a keen sports fan and can frequently be found out on a soccer field playing soccer or competing in futsal. When not enjoying the great outdoors, Arun likes to pursue the quieter side of his interests, watching travel blogs and documentaries or following EPL, UCL and LaLiga soccer leagues.

James Kingsley

Mechanical Engineering Student

James joined CES in 2024 as a Mechanical Engineering Student. He is currently in the final year of his Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Specialisation) with Honours at the University of Tasmania (UTAS).

James brings a passion for learning and a strong focus on mechanical engineering excellence. He is a keen problem solver, excited by the opportunity to positively impact project outcomes. We look forward to his continued development and contributions to the CES team.
